Coronavirus Response

As healthcare providers, we are unable to isolate ourselves so we will be relying on you and your families to help minimize our exposure so we can continue to serve you to the best of our ability.

Dear families,

We hope everyone is well and taking the precautions needed to keep yourselves and others around you healthy. We also hope that your homes are well stocked with supplies!

We wanted to update you on some changes we’ve made here at Holly No. 7 to help keep us all healthy as we navigate these unprecedented times.

PRACTICE CHANGES

Free consult visits will be via phone/video. We will call you at your scheduled time. Look for Chris’s number: 207-323-2462.

Initial prenatal visits will be done in-person to begin care and lab work as needed.

Phone/video appointments will be offered to those in their first and second trimester of pregnancy with intermittent in-person appointments as needed.

For those in their third trimester we will continue with our regular schedule of in person prenatal appointments.

If you find yourself in need of changing your birth plan, we are offering a free 15 min phone call screening to determine if you meet our criteria for an out-of-hospital birth.

GUIDELINES FOR IN-PERSON APPOINTMENTS

If you have an in-person appointment,  please follow these guidelines:

  • If you or anyone in your household is sick or not feeling well please reschedule your appointment.

  • Whenever possible, please have your older children cared for by their other parent or close family member during your appointment.

  • Upon entering Holly No.7 please wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.

We will be using impeccable hygiene practices during our in-person appointments, hand-washing at the beginning and end of each client encounter, use of gloves when indicated and disinfecting all surfaces that are touched by us or by clients. We will also disinfect items between appointments (blood pressure cuffs, fetoscopes, dopplers and stethoscopes).

We will use masks as available and/or needed.

BIRTH AT HOLLY NO. 7

For those of you planning to give birth at Holly No 7 we ask that you keep the number of support people to a maximum of two. This is not our normal policy, but these are not normal times.

We will continue to use impeccable hygiene throughout your birth and continue to follow our thorough cleaning procedures after the birth.

HOME BIRTH

For those of you having home births, we ask that you keep the number of people attending your birth to a maximum of two and if possible, during the birth have your older children cared for at a family member’s home.

IN CASE OF ILLNESS

If a midwife or family suspects COVID-19 in their house at the onset of labor, we will discuss a plan of action with the family.

If one of us becomes sick, we have other midwives who will step in to care for you.

WE’RE HERE FOR YOU!

Later this week Chris will be attending online conferences to keep updated on the best practices for us to follow. If we have new useful information to share, we’ll update you here.

Love and care to all,

Chris, Emma, and Julie
